The journal Review of Digital Politics is preparing a themed issue on open access.
The issue proposes an exploration of the following topics amongst others:
Open source and emerging technologies, with a focus on Generative AI (e.g., OpenAi ChatGPT, etc.) and blockchain, and their open-access codes or the open-access datasets used to train the machines.
Open source intelligence (Osint): tools, techniques and applications for analysis of open-access information, especially the practices and challenges relating to the world of academia and scientific research.
Open access and public administration, including legal issues around data protection, use of public sector information, the fine dividing line between transparency and privacy etc.
Open access and journalism, citizen journalism, immersive journalism etc. also from an Osint perspective and how journalists can face the challenge of information bias.
Open access and publishing: policy, frameworks, experiences/successes, sustainability, intellectual copyright, regional perspectives.
Open education, open education policies, open source platforms, emerging open education methods and technologies (Vr, Ar, Ai), Massive open online courses (Moocs), Open educational resources (Oer) and repositories, digital libraries, impact on scalability inclusiveness and sustainability of education.
The deadline for submitting the proposal has been extended to 28/05/2023
