With 2020 formally over, we want to send you our best wishes for the new year and to remind you of IAMCR 2021. Like last year’s conference, IAMCR 2021 will be online, this time hosted by USIU-Africa in Nairobi, Kenya. The main component of the conference, Online Conference Papers, launched its call for proposals in December. The deadline to submit is 9 February. Flow34, a call for podcasts and videos that integrate academic and aesthetic dimensions, using sound and/or image creatively to communicate academic knowledge shares the same 9 February deadline.
Having to hold our annual conference online for the second year in a row at least serves to highlight the broad scope for interpretation of the conference theme, Rethinking Borders and Boundaries. Other modalities for participation, including an African “hub” at USIU-Africa, and satellite activities at various points around the globe, are being worked on and we’ll have news about them soon. In the meantime, check out the Nairobi 2021 conference website and especially the calls for proposals of IAMCR’s 33 sections and working groups.–
