| Greetings
Shifting Norms, Changing Behaviours, Amplifying Voice, WHAT WORKS? – the 2018 International Social and Behaviour Change Communication Summit.
Hi – trust that all is well with your important work. I wanted to quickly share the initial details on the «What Works?» Summit. These follow below. Please do let me know if you have any questions but further details on agenda, tracks, fees, abstract submission process, etc will follow soon. With many thanks for considering your participation in this Summit.
Date: April 16th to 20th, 2018
Venue: Bali, Indonesia
Rationale: Distilling what works for effective action to shift norms, change behaviours and amplify voice is vitally important for effective and principled development action. This applies across all development issues including, for example, health, extreme poverty, gender inequities, emergencies and conflicts, acute and chronic diseases, climate change, rights and democracy and governance, among others. The collective power of people to transform the factors that govern their lives is the true heart of development. In order to improve and advance the effectiveness of this work we need to better understand “what works”.
Further information on this Summit will be communicated soon including related to the Summit framing document; Summit tracks and agenda; registration process and fees; abstract submission criteria and process; the online platforms that will be hosted by The CI; and other relevant links and information.
The secretariat organizations for this summit are: Johns Hopkins Centre for Communication Programs, UNICEF, Soul City Institute for Social Justice, BBC Media Action and The Communication Initiative. A larger Steering Group is also being formed. We will provide details in future communications.
One major priority for the Secretariat at this time is to build the funding base for the conference. Please do review the Summit sponsorship package summary here that includes a link to the full Sponsorship Package document. If your organization is interested in this opportunity please send a reply email and I can connect you with the relevant people. Many thanks for considering.
Thanks – very much hope that you can attend and participate. For now please do put this on your schedule, discuss with your organization and its funders, and if interested take the preparatory steps to participate. Please do send by reply email any questions or suggestions. More soon!
