New guidelines to help EU businesses use the Cloud
Guidelines to help business users save money and get the most out of cloud computing services have been presented to the European Commission. Cloud computing allows individuals, businesses and the public sector to store their data and carry out data processing in remote data centres, saving on average 10-20%.
Huge cuts in mobile data roaming price caps from 1 July – a drop of over 50% from last summer!
It’s a big summer sale courtesy of the European Commission! From 1 July 2014, the EU will cut the price caps for data downloads by more than half: down from 45 cents per megabyte to 20c/MB. It will become even cheaper to use maps, watch videos, check mails and update social networks while travelling across the EU.
Commission announces huge new influx of partners to the Graphene Flagship project
To coincide with Graphene Week 2014, the European Commission announces that the Graphene Flagship, one of the largest-ever European research initiatives, is doubling in size. 66 new partners are being invited to join the consortium following the results of a EUR 9 million competitive call.
