11,136 Health Media Initiative, Open Society Foundations

The Health Media Initiative of the Open Society Public Health Program has worked with The Communication Initiative to set up a «Health, Rights and Media» network and community of practice on The CI portal athttp://networks.comminit.com/healthmedia/

The aim is to establish an online community of practice for people involved in media and advocacy work in health and human rights globally in order that they can support each other to improve the impact of their work including through networking with and learning from a wider group of media advocacy practitioners worldwide. After an initial period as a closed network, we are now opening it up to the wider Communication Initiative community. We very much hope that you will join at http://networks.comminit.com/healthmedia/ and share resources, insights and lessons with one another.

Complementing this community of practice the Health, Rights and Media theme site at http://www.comminit.com/health_rights_media/category/sites/global/health-rights-and-media/ provides access to an extensive range of knowledge, insight and experience on addressing health issues from a rights perspective using media based strategies.
