Commission opens consultations on media freedom and pluralism and audiovisual media regulator independence
(22 March 2013) The European Commission launches today two public consultations, open until 7th June 2013. The consultations formalise a debate started by recommendations made in January 2013 by an independent High Level Group (HLG) on Media Freedom and Pluralism convened by the Commission.

Global tech sector measures its carbon footprint
(18 March 2013) The European Commission is working with 27 of the world’s leading tech companies and associations to measure their carbon footprint arising from the production, transport and sales of ICT goods, networks and services. According to a study published today, 10 measurement tools and standards pilot-tested by the organisations are comparable. The aim is to have a common measurement framework in order to get a clearer picture, and eventually a reduction, of CO2 emissions.
