7367 Network of e-Government Authorities of Latin America and the Caribbean, ExcelGOV awards to excellence in electronic government

ExcelGOV awards to excellence in electronic government are organized by the Network of e-Government Authorities of Latin America and the Caribbean (RED GEALC), the Organization of American States (OAS) and the International Development Research Centre (IDRC). The 2011 awards are the third edition.
Categories
• E-government focusing on people: E-government solutions which show they were designed considering people as their focus, in their design, implementation and monitoring.
• M-government: E-government solutions for mobile devices.
Submission of applications
• Each person or institution may submit any number of applications.
• The process for submitting applications will be open until Friday August 5th, at 11 pm, Washington DC time.

Awards
• The winner in each category will be awarded a technical visit to Canada, all expenses paid for one person, apart from 15 scholarships for the e-government courses of Red GEALC/OAS.
• The winner of each special mention will be awarded 10 scholarships for the e-government courses of Red GEALC/OAS.
• In all cases, the winner will be deemed to be the government institution owning the participating solution.
• Awards and mentions will be presented to the Minister of the winning country during the meeting of ministers and high-level authorities on e-government, which will take place in San José, Costa Rica, in November.
