Happy New Year! We hope it will be a great year for WJEC as well.
I wanted to let you know that we will be meeting in Istanbul this July as part of the meeting of the International Association for Media Communication Research (IAMCR). IAMCR’s meeting is July 13-18. We should have a specific date for our one-day meeting within the next few weeks. IAMCR is offering a 50 Euro discount for the official WJEC delegates (one to an organization) who attends our meeting. The IAMCR website is iamcr.org.
There was strong support for both the IAMCR venue in Istanbul and the EJTA venue in London. The preference by delegates was IAMCR 11, EJTA 9 (this included those who said they could attend either. For those who had a a single preference and could attend at only one time, it was IAMCR 8, EJTA 4. Thanks to both organizations for volunteering to host our summer meeting.
As a reminder, in Istanbul we will be deciding the location of the 2013 World Journalism Education Congress. The deadline for bid applications is March 31, 2011. Please use your organizations to help spread the word. The request for bids can be found at http://wjec.ou.edu/congress.php.
