4275 University of Applied Science Soest, Signs of the Crisis. Communication of Crisis or Crisis of Communication

Dear Colleagues,

The section “Social Systems” and “Economy” are holding a conference on the semiotic aspects of the global economic crisis under the title “Signs of the Crisis. Communication of Crisis or Crisis of Communication.”

It takes place on Thursday 25th February 2010 at the University of Applied Science Soest. Soest is located about 50 km east from Dortmund/Ruhrgebiet.

6 well reputable speakers from different academic fields: sociology, communication science, political science, economy and design, will present their thoughts on how the crisis arose and might be cured by means of communication and semiosis. Who are the actors and drivers? How real and or how virtual e.g. semiotic is our economic system? Is it fate or can we draw any conclusions out of it?

You find further details about the topics and the organization under: www.krisenzeichen.de

The conference is (unfortunately) held in German only.
But if you understand German, and you are in the area it is a great opportunity to discuss with us semiotic aspects of social and economic systems.

We are looking forward to meet you at Soest.
Please don’t hesitate to forward this invitation to colleagues or students, who might be interested in this conference.

Best regards
