11,869 Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas, “Investigative Journalism for the Digital Age”

Hi,
Sorry for this massive email, but it is about a massive course, so I thought you may forgive me.
I am writing to ask you to help me to spread the word about the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) that starts this Monday, May 12, and lasts for five weeks. Four of the best professionals and professors in the United States in the field of Investigative Journalism will be teaching this MOOC, which is free and open to anyone in the world who understands English and has Internet access. The instructors are Brant Houston, Lise Olsen, Mike Berens and Steve Doig (the latter two are recipients of Pulitzer Prizes on investigative reporting).
The course “Investigative Journalism for the Digital Age” is entirely online and asynchronous, meaning that there are no real time, live activities. The program is divided into five weekly modules and students can work the times and days more convenient for them within each week. There a video-lectures, reading material and forums for discussions and tasks.
Please use your contacts and your social media connections to help us recruit more participants for the course. We have already more than 2,400 students from 135 countries ! But we want more. We normally form an amazing global learning community in our MOOCs that generates a fascinating interaction between people from around the globe interested in the same topic. This is our 10th MOOC in 18 months and so far the results have been great.
You can read more about the course on the Knight Center’s website at http://bit.ly/1nxTu0E or you can visit our MOOC site athttp://open.journalismcourses.org.
Thank you for helping us. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Cheers
rosental
