35th International Conference on Software Engineering
Software engineering ideas to change the world
May 18 – 26, 2013
San Francisco, USA

http://2013.icse-conferences.org
=================

The International Conference on Software Engineering provides an environment where ideas are created, exchanged, and synthesized as researchers, practitioners, and educators present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, experiences, and challenges in the field of software
engineering. ICSE
2013 brings ICSE back to San Francisco for the first time in 37 years. Leading edge results from ICSE 1976 laid the foundation for work in areas ranging from software correctness and robustness, to language design and analysis, and more. Similarly, leading-edge results at ICSE 2013 will lay the foundation for the future in areas known and unknown —as is vital for a world where software will continue to become increasingly intertwined with our environment, our economies, our health, and our political and educational systems.

By San Francisco Bay in the heart of the Embarcadero District: Please join us at ICSE 2013 in San Francisco, a renowned city worth exploring for its beauty, cultural attractions, diverse communities, and world-class cuisine. As William Saroyan said, «If you’re alive, you can’t be bored in San Francisco.  If you’re not alive, San Francisco will bring you to life.»

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

We encourage you to contribute to and help shape ICSE 2013 through submissions to one or more of our many vehicles for professional engagement: research papers, practice and experience papers, education papers, new ideas and emerging results papers, tutorials, workshops, the doctoral symposium, and posters and demonstrations. For the technical research track, we invite high quality submissions of papers describing original and unpublished results of conceptual, constructive, empirical, experimental, or theoretical work in all areas of software engineering. Successful submissions may range from novel technical results to scientific evaluations of existing problems or research results. Submissions describing groundbreaking approaches to emerging problems will be considered based on timeliness and potential impact. Submissions will be evaluated on the basis of originality, contribution, soundness, evaluation, quality of presentation, and appropriate comparison to related work.

ICSE 2013 accepts paper submissions in the following categories:
– Technical research papers
– Software engineering in practice papers
– Software engineering education papers
– New ideas and emerging results papers

We also invite
– proposals for workshops and tutorials
– submissions to the doctoral symposium and
– formal demonstrations

IMPORTANT DEADLINES (submission deadlines are firm):
Aug. 17, 2012  Technical research papers
Nov. 2, 2012   Workshop proposals
Nov. 2, 2012   Tutorial proposals

SUBMISSIONS

Submissions will be handled electronically at the ICSE 2013 web site. To be considered, each submission must satisfy the track-specific instructions given on their respective web pages. All deadlines are strict; no exceptions will be granted.  All submissions must conform to the submission instructions given on the conference web pages.  Submissions will be evaluated on the basis of originality, contribution, soundness, evaluation, quality of presentation and appropriate comparison to related work. Accepted papers in all tracks may be withheld from publication unless at least one co-author registers for the event. Accepted papers in all tracks will be required to use the originally submitted author list in the official publication.

PROCEEDINGS

Accepted papers will be published in the ICSE 2013 electronic conference proceedings and in the digital libraries of ACM and the IEEE Computer Society.
