I’ve been asked to pass along to you this announcement about the upcoming
#140Edu 2012 conference July 31-August 1, 2012 in NYC at the 92nd Street Y.
The #140 series of conferences focus on non-marketing uses of Twitter and
how social networking, 140 characters at a time, can help form communities
and bring people together.
Paul Levinson has called Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, et al. the «New NEW
Media.» How are educators using new social media in their classrooms and as
part of their pedagogy? Is Twitter making us dumber, or is it providing a
new channel of communication to millions of voices denied access to main
stream media? What new paradigms are contained in this evolving media
environment?
I highly recommend the #140Edu 2012 conference as part of this ongoing
discussion.
