Dr. Leonard Shyles has been a Professor in the Department of Communication
at Villanova University since 1989. He served as the director of the video
production lab until 2000. He is also a member of the speech faculty,
teaching Business and Professional Speaking to the University’s
undergraduate majors mainly from the Business School. His research focuses
on the transition from analog to digital platforms across media and
telecommunications institutions. His principal recent work includes the
texts *Deciphering cyberspace: making the most of digital communication
technology* (2003), and* The Art of Video Production* (2007) by Sage
publications. Dr. Shyles is also an expert in both qualitative and
quantitative research methods. He has taught research methodology in the
Communication Department continuously since 1989, and has published widely
in the fields of political communication, public communication campaigns,
and military propaganda analysis.
