The Culture Sector of UNESCO is organizing an online discussion to analyze and challenge the perception of risk in funding the cultural and creative sectors in developing economies. This online discussion is part of a number of initiatives put forward to generate visibility for the culture and development agenda, as well as to catalyze the international community’s commitment and action.
UNESCO’s discussion will act as an interactive forum for individuals to share best practices and research, to collaborate and to exchange and debate on topics related to perceptions of risk involved in investments in culture in developing countries.
A two-day symposium on this same theme will be held at UNESCO headquarters on 16 and 17 April, where key messages from the discussion will be shared with symposium participants in order to inform debates.
