KICKS OFF 2009 FESTIVAL WITH
PRESS CONFERENCE AND SCREENING
WHAT: THE EUROPEAN INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL (ÉCU) OPENING PRESS CONFERENCE AND SCREENING
The European Independent Film Festival (ÉCU), Europe’s premier event for independent filmmakers, officially invites all media outlets to the opening press conference, where they will have the opportunity to interview competing filmmakers as well as Scott Hillier, President of The European Independent Film Festival. A cocktail will follow and than there will be a screening of the festival’s opening films.

18:00 – 19:30: Press conference, access to opening filmmakers, drinks and snacks (Salle Belvédère, 18th Floor, Tour 2)
19:30 – 21:00: Opening films in Le Grand Auditorium ( Entrée Est)
ADDITIONAL FESTIVAL INFORMATION:
In addition to the opening night screenings and the 113 films from 27 countries competing for the ‘Best European Independent Film’ throughout the weekend, the festival will offer an exciting array of workshop events with internationally renowned industry experts from 13th – 15th March. Also:

Environmental Category: New category added in 2009 for films dealing with environmental issues.

New Programme to Launch at ÉCU 2009: The Perfect Pitch is a series of workshops aimed at independent filmmakers helping fine-tune their pitch presentations to producers, distributors and financiers.

The European Independent Film Channel: The European Independent Film Channel will be launched at ÉCU 2009. Its mantra is to give filmmakers maximum year-round exposure and to provide the public with the very best independent films from around the World wherever they are – whenever they want on www.europeanindependentfilmchannel.com
